Three things people don’t know about you?

I started playing the violin at the age of six. I lost my memory for a day. I can speak seven languages.

What’s your greatest fear?

A rather morbid one that I’ll be stabbed.

What is your greatest achievement?

Yet to come.

High point of your life?

Many. To pick one that stands out, holding the first copy of my book.

Low point of your life

Again many. All I choose to remember is getting past them! Interests admiration.

Which living person do you most admire?

My father. His perseverance and discipline are qualities that inspire.

Who is your favorite fictional hero?

Spiderman.

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

The character of Professor Moriarty in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes.

Who are your favorite authors?

Quite a few. In no particular order Ayn Rand, Charles Dickens, P.G. Wodehouse, Irving Wallace, Jeffrey Archer, John Grisham, Ruskin Bond, O’Henry are authors whose works have impressed me time and again.

What are your 5 favorite books of all time?

Fountainhead, Catch 22, Kane and Abel, Love Story, Great Expectations.

Is there a book you love to reread?

All of the above.

What are your 5 favorite movies of all time?

Top Gun, Notting Hill, Scent of a Woman, Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam, Casa Blanca.

One Superpower you wish you had?

Never really given it a thought but I’d pick Psychokinesis only because I am too lazy.

Your epitaph would read? /Last line in your biography would be?

His words shall continue to be spoken long after he’s gone.

If you had a time machine to take you back to any country and any time period, where would you choose to be for your childhood, adolosent , adult life and silver years?

Childhood – In New Delhi once again, Adolescent – In Riverdale (The town where Archie and his friends live), Adult Life – In the Big Apple – New York. Never been there but in my imagination it’s the perfect place for work and party! Silver Years – Someplace picturesque, Bristol in England springs to mind. Beautiful locales, seaside, history and culture. Just the right mix for the perfect sunset!

If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

Compose music.

Which book you wish you had written ?

None in particular, any of Wodehouse’s works. Love them for the wit.

When and where do you write ?

At home and early morning.

Silence or music?

Music always!

One phrase that you use most often?

It takes all kinds to make the world.

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

Not a ritual really but I invariably read my draft from the beginning till where I stopped writing before I continue writing. Helps me ascertain continuity of thought.

What’s your guilty reading pleasure?

More of a candid confession, reading Mills and Boon books when I was a teenager!

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

The crux of the matter is not just having a story to tell, it is having the ability to tell it and that's where practice comes in, practice makes improvement.
