Three things people don’t know about you?

I play the violin, I love drawing cartoons, and I don't know how to swim.

What’s your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is to be surrounded by any type of bird. Those things have a vendetta against me.

What is your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement has to be writing this book and getting it published.

High point of your life?

I think that the high point of my life so far would be returning to in-person school after the pandemic. Seeing my friends and teachers outside of a screen was amazing.

Who is your favorite fictional hero?

Jane Penderwick from the Penderwick series. She is dreamy and artistic, and funnels her imagination into writing. Jane is loyal to those she cares for and can make impulsive decisions, but she is still a wonderful person to look up to.

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

For me, a good fictional villain should be someone that is easy to hate. Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a prime example of a character that makes your blood boil from the moment you meet them.

Who are your favorite authors?

Jeanne Birdsall, John Steinbeck, and Neil Gaiman.

What are your 5 favorite books of all time?

The Penderwicks in Point Mouette, The Girl Who Drank The Moon, To Kill A Mockingbird, Anne of Green Gables, and Animal Farm.

Is there a book you love to reread?

I love to reread any of the books in the Penderwicks series.

What are your 5 favorite movies of all time?

Forrest Gump, Titanic, Despicable Me, Up, and Paddington

One Superpower you wish you had?

I wish I had the power to be invisible. I would then be able to go to anything without paying for the experience (movies, amusement parks, etc.)

Which book you wish you had written ?

I wish I could have written "The Wednesday Wars", but I don't think I could replaced the author's writing style. Every book has its own magic that no other author can replace, no matter how hard they work at it.

Silence or music?

Music.

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

I do not have a writing ritual/superstition.

What’s your guilty reading pleasure?

Picture books.

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

You cannot edit a blank page
