Three things people don’t know about you?

I write my stories with a pencil on discarded sheets of paper. I am rarely bored, I keep myself occupied with learning something new all the time. I have a terrible handwriting but incidentally I’ve taught myself calligraphy.

What’s your greatest fear?

To die without telling all my stories.

What is your greatest achievement?

If I have already had one then there would be nothing further to achieve.

High point of your life?

My high point(s) would be each time I come up with a new story in my mind.

Low point of your life

When I lost my dad, my mentor, and the person I admired the most.

Which living person do you most admire?

There are many inspiring people out there so it’s hard to pick out one name. But I hope I could find a spot there someday.

Who is your favorite fictional hero?

Mr Darcy, from Pride and Prejudice.

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

Joker, from the Batman series.

Who are your favorite authors?

Enid Blyton, Agatha Christie and JK Rowling.

What are your 5 favorite books of all time?

Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen. Gone with the wind, by Margaret Mitchell. The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. The Secret Island, by Enid Blyton. The Blind Assassin, by Margaret Atwood.

The entire Calvin and Hobbes series

What are your 5 favorite movies of all time?

The Sound of Music, Shawshank Redemption, The Last Samurai, My Fair Lady, and, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin

One Superpower you wish you had?

To be transported to any place at will.

Keep at it even when you want to give up, because tomorrow is another day.

Sharon Puthur is an Engineer turned writer. She is a hobbyist and an amateur perfumer. She practices belly dancing, and the violin, and is currently learning Kathak.
Her first play “Three Candles for the Dead” was shortlisted for The Hindu’s Metroplus Playwright Award 2014.
Her short story “The Handkerchief” was selected as a winning entry in the 2013 International writing competition organised by Sampad, in partnership with British Council India.
Her novel “The Princess who ran away” has just been longlisted for The Mumbai Film Festival’s Word to Screen Market.
She lives in Bangalore with her family.
