Spending a lot of time with my son, Rohin during his formative years.

High point of your life?

Being in my son, Rohin’s company every day.

None. I’m alive.

Which living person do you most admire?

Can’t name just one. So I will pass on this one.

Who is your favorite fictional hero?

Jack Bauer from the TV show, 24. He’ll break the rules to protect his Homeland. The ultimate patriot.

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

Dexter Morgan from the TV show, Dexter. Brilliant and fearless, he will not hesitate to share his thoughts and failings with the audience.

Who are your favorite authors?

Herge, Lee Falk, Jeffrey Archer, Sidney Sheldon, Stieg Larsson, Malcolm Gladwell, Atul Gawande, Nicholas Kristoff.

What are your 5 favorite books of all time?

Outliers, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, If Tomorrow Comes, Complications, Half the Sky.

Is there a book you love to reread?

The Adventures of Tintin.

If you had a time machine to take you back to any country and any time period, where would you choose to be for your childhood, adolosent , adult life and silver years?

I would not do it any other way than it has played out.

If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

Playing the guitar. Brilliantly.

When and where do you write ?

At home. Usually At night.

Music.

One phrase that you use most often?

We don’t know the people we judge.

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

I try not to sit by the window. So that when it’s mediocre I don’t jump.

What’s your guilty reading pleasure?

Mandrake the Magician and The Phantom comics.

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

Write.

Son of a journalist and a teacher, Sam Mukherjee grew up surrounded by books and developed a lifelong passion for words and their impact. Sam’s first novel, Chopped Green Chillies in Vanilla Ice Cream, was released in 2011, followed by In the Name of Love (2012). Currently, he is a Speechwriter for a Canadian Senator and lives in Toronto with his wife, Savita and son, Rohin. Sam’s passion for sports has drawn him into travelling around the world for important sporting events such as the Australian Open, the Olympics, and Formula One racing and his love of flying has taken him in a Beech craft over Mt. Everest, in a sea plane in the Pacific Northwest, in a helicopter across the Australian Gold Coast, and parasailing in Thailand.
