What’s your greatest fear?

Of course, it has to be vertigo. But I tried to conquer it by taking volunteering rappelling from a high rock many years ago

What is your greatest achievement?

The first rejection slip from a newspaper Editor back while I was at school. That set in me the determination that made do more than 200 articles in national newspapers.

High point of your life?

Getting married and being blessed with two loving daughters.

Low point of your life

My mother's demise due to cancer.

Sachin Tendulkar and Roger Federer

Who is your favorite fictional hero?

Gulliver

Who are your favorite authors?

Hard to pick but I loved RK Narayanan, Somerset Maugham and Shakespeare.

Autobiography of a Yogi, Mahatma Gandhi's My Experiments with Truth, 10 commandments by Deepak Chopra, Tribes by Seth Godin, Ramayan and Mahabharat

If you had a time machine to take you back to any country and any time period, where would you choose to be for your childhood, adolosent , adult life and silver years?

India for my childhood, our myriad cultures, states and art forms charm me, some sea side place for adolescence, South India for adult life, a village retreat for silver years.

If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

I’m a bathroom singer, would love to have acquired a great voice.

Which book you wish you had written ?

The Book of Lists by Irwing Wallace.

When and where do you write ?

Mostly in the mornings after breakfast. Sometimes at home, other times while on an Uber.

Silence or music?

Silence and music connect you to your soul and to nature.

One phrase that you use most often?

Be Good. Do Good.

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

I write when I have an idea, then put it away and revisit a day later for an objective read.

What’s your guilty reading pleasure?

If you feel guilty, then you shouldn’t do it. If you’re doing it, you shouldn’t feel guilty.

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

Just write. Don’t think who’s going to read it. Just remember, JK Rowling was rejected by many publishers who thought no one would read Harry Potter.

A guy from small town KGF, who has fond memories of several childhood adventures in the Bangalore of the early '80s, he first wrote when he was seven, published a cyclostyled magazine in 11th Standard, built and sold a popular blog in the early days of internet. Loves nature, people, music and travel.
