I am a dreamer, shopaholic, love coffee and conversations, a diehard Rahul Dravid fan, an ardent book lover and love to pen down be it thoughts, stories or letters. A visual merchandiser by profession, I love to make the world little more colourful and fashionable.
I have published my first novel, F-Factor: A College Memoir Of Friendship, Fun, Fashion in the year 2010.
Love Arranged is my upcoming novel weaving an ordinary love story which everyone will connect to. Love was just a word to me until I met my prince charming whom I am happily married to.

Three things people don’t know about you?

I love travelling and learning from the new culture, be it Pongal celebration in Tamil Nadu or month-long celebration and decking up of City of Joy in Durga pooja. The beach is my favourite place to be. I love to converse with tides and the sea keeps all my secrets safely. Someday, I would love to open a library accessible to orphans as I truly believe in empowerment by education.

What’s your greatest fear?

That reservation based on caste will divide India further and lead to irreversible brain-drain.

What is your greatest achievement?

A Training in London and writing my novels F-Factor and Love Arranged.

High point of your life?

Being born in a fab family. My family ensure I am always high on life.

Low point of your life

Unexpected departure of my beloved grandma. It changed me as a person and forced me to leave procrastination behind.

Rahul Dravid, the way he conducts himself on and off the field.

Lord Krishna

Snape (Harry Potter) for portraying the grey character for so long without a pinch of suspicion.

If you had a time machine to take you back to any country and any time period, where would you choose to be for your childhood, adolosent , adult life and silver years?

Childhood with my parents in my hometown, Adolescence in Mumbai, Adult life in Bangalore and Silver Years in Vrindavan.

If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

Talent to make a difference with words and spread education.

When and where do you write ?

I write everywhere, in my home, in the cab while commuting, on the beach. My writing Journal is always with me.

Music, sometimes to get my concentration on, I listen to a song on loop whole day.

Go for your dreams.

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

I love to write in early morning and late nights.

What’s your guilty reading pleasure?

If I like a book, I will not put down till I finish it, the world has to wait.

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

Be original and believe in yourself. You can never read your drafts enough. Keep rereading till it looks right to you.

Geetanjali Jha, apart from being a visual merchandiser, has done her Bachelors from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kolkata. She is an absolute chocoholic and shopaholic. She loves the camera both from the front and behind and is an avid book lover. Photography and exploration are second nature to her, be it people, places or ideas.
