Three things people don’t know about you?

I have travelled across each and every state of India. I can speak a few languages and working on a new one (Conlang). I watch Before movie series at least once a month.

What’s your greatest fear?

To die without having contributed much to the world.

What is your greatest achievement?

Having studied in a village school and now training some of the finest students (college/university) as a guest lecturer.

High point of your life?

Working at Deloitte and getting paid for no real work.

Low point of your life

Quitting the job to pursue my passion, and thus, choosing a life of poverty; though inadvertently.

Which living person do you most admire?

Dalai Lama.

Who is your favorite fictional hero?

Allan Karlsson.

Who is your favorite fictional villain?

Joker.

JD Salinger, JRR Tolkien, Leo Tolstoy, Salman Rushdie, George Orwell, Gabriel García Márquez, Anees Salim.

One Superpower you wish you had?

I would create a place where writers could stay and write, without having to work in a day job.

If you had a time machine to take you back to any country and any time period, where would you choose to be for your childhood, adolosent , adult life and silver years?

Childhood in Ancient Greece, adolescent life in USA during Marilyn Monroe’s time, adult life in English countryside in 19th century, and silver years in Himalayas right after the independence.

If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

Eloquence in Urdu.

When and where do you write ?

I write every day, otherwise I lose my rhythm. Long breaks bring writer’s block. Location does not matter as long as the place isn’t too crowded or noisy.

Silence or music?

Natural sounds, preferably that of flowing water. And birds.

One phrase that you use most often?

Very Nice (Borat style)

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

I am always hesitant to share my work with anyone before the final edits.

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

Write, rewrite and repeat until you start to believe that you have created a marvel.
