If you had a time machine to take you back to any country and any time period, where would you choose to be for your childhood, adolosent , adult life and silver years?

More than the time period, the socio-economic class in which you are born is more significant. The rich and the politically influential get the best of exposures life has to offer while the poor and disadvantaged always get the flak whichever the time period. This moment is as interesting, lively and challenging as any other. We always say that the best time was somewhere in the past . But the idea should be to be in the present and to make the best it.

First thing first: write out all the ideas and thoughts. I never begin the day with Facebook/WhatsApp seeing who responded to your comments or the timeline posts: they are just too involving.

What’s your guilty reading pleasure?

In the early years, it was Asterix comics. Now for quite sometime, it is Dilbert by Scot Adams.

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

It is too early for me to be advising new writers. But here is my mantra from “The Failure Project” that I follow. “Keep Calm and Write. And that Booker might just happen!”

From medical school aspirant to finance has certainly been a hell of a journey, with some spectacular failures. Each milestone provided me with insights into why we fail, how we fail, and the need to get up, learn and move on. It has involved direct encounters with more failures than successes. I have been mauled I must admit, and every encounter left its mark. Looking back, I feel those encounters were necessary. Certainly, no one sets out to fail, but failures do happen. Every failure was a lesson that came in handy in the next venture. Every one of them happened for a reason.
