Three things people don’t know about you?

a) I can play nasal flute b) I educate the underprivileged people working in unorganized sector on Government policies and aids that benefit them. c) I still write poems about love based on my personal experience of today and I sometimes write poem on myself from my male admirers’ point of view.

What’s your greatest fear?

I don’t believe in fear as I live in hope.

What is your greatest achievement?

In spite of all the great awards /social achievements/ national recognitions that I have received, my greatest achievement is that I am humble, grounded and motivated.

High point of your life?

When I am able to communicate effectively to the people I am surrounded with and make them laugh .

When I am sick.

When and where do you write ?

I write in a moving taxi/ metro train or at home in my study.

Nothing. I write with my focused mind so nothing in the surrounding makes a difference

Nothing is impossible.

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

Yes , whomsoever I have chosen my muse for the love poems, he has gone away from my life so I no more write poems on my near dear ones.

Ankita Srivastava is a prolific writer who first published her work at the age of seventeen and has, since then, been publishing in both international and national magazines. An avid poet, Ankita is also a poem reader on AIR, a theatre artist, an Army officer with Operation -- Kargil and Operation -- Parakarm. An Air Force Officer's wife, and a mother of two bright boys. She won the Tanishq Beauty pageant in 2008 and Most Vivacious Woman' award at Gladrags Mrs. India 2009. She is the first lady security officer of the State Bank of India, New Delhi and was conferred the State Bank's Performance in Excellence' award in 2012.
