I love reading books and writing reviews on them sometimes, I am taciturn and an introvert, I am a big cricket fan

My greatest achievement is that I have been able to put out my debut poetry collection for the world to read.

My favorite authors are - Alexander Pope, Jane Austen, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Robert Frost, William Wordsworth, Robert Browning, Agatha Christie, Tracy Chevalier, Clare Mackintosh.

What are your 5 favorite books of all time?

The Scarlet Letter, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Sad Cypress, Refugee, I See You

What are your 5 favorite movies of all time?

Jumanji, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, Knives Out, Cruella

If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

It would be knitting.

When and where do you write ?

I mostly write in my own room, on my table. There is as such no fixed time.

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

Before writing a poem, I write down some points related to the poem in my notebook that help me write the poem and I also write down some words that I would use in the poem.

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

Dear writers, I would say that before writing a poem, you should read some poems by your favorite poets for inspiration. Reading well known poets gives you ideas for your own poems. I also believe that there should always be a meaning or purpose behind writing a poem.

Anam Tariq did her M.A. in English from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India.
Alongside being a poet, she aspires to have a career in the academic field and is currently
teaching English part-time. Apart from poetry, she writes academic papers too, one of which has been published in a journal. She tries to indite poetry which resonates with everyone. Her poems have appeared in three consecutive Women’s College Magazines (at AMU), poetry anthologies ""Going Off The Grid"" and ""India Without A Mask: The Poetics & Politics Of The Pandemic"", INKochi Cultural eMagazine, The Punch Magazine, New Reader Magazine, The Alipore Post, on Live Wire and elsewhere. She has also won two 3rd prizes for her poetry in two Poetry Competitions held at AMU. When Anam is not prompting her imagination for verse, she is using it to envisage a world out of the contemporary novels that she loves to read!
