“What is it like living with a paper bag over our head?” is what Mayank Anand’s love story asks. The pages are peppered with doodles as if from a diary. The actor-painter explores a relationship where one partner decides which way it should go, while the other is too much in love to notice.

Have you ever fallen in love with a person who belongs to some-one else? Can you imagine the movement when it dawns on you that you mean nothing to a person who means the world to you? What do you do to deal with that pain? Who do you turn to for the answers only he can answer? How does it feel to be in love and yet be confined to the sidelines? Mayank Anand in his debut novel explores the dark abyss of one such relationship - a relationship wherein one partner decides which way it should go and the other one is too much in love to think otherwise. A beautiful, heart- wrenching story about an indestructible love that will redefine the perception of passion, joy and sacrifice.

‘WRITE’ STUFF!
The multi-talented actor artist Mayank Anand made a successful foray into the field of writing, by unveiling his debut novel at the ICAI Art Gallery on Tuesday evening. It was unveiled by the gracious Dolly Thakore. A handful of spunky women including Shraddha Nigam, Sujata Kumar and Benaaf Dadachanjee read excerpts from the book. They were all praises for Mayank for “handling such a sensitive topic so beautifully” as Sujata said and “attempting a genre as complex as emotions in his debut attempt itself” as Shraddha, who came to support her dear friend Mayank on this special day of his, remarked. The launch was also attended by Vick ram Seth, for whom it was a “lovely experience to host a book reading. Which is as an art show”; actor Rohan Kapoor and artists Ananya Banerjee and Vipta Kapadia, the later, who has seen Mayank at his artistic best at a couple of art camps and was glad to see yet another facet of his talent that evening.
